Hoping for a win...
Headed for the first game of the playoffs today. Very excited and very anxious. I think we can win if we can overcome last weeks loss. We lost to our biggest rivals, Orem HS. It was a heart breaker too! They were a little weak in the first half but came on strong in the second half and was within a touchdown and TWICE in the last 2 minutes we had opportunities to score. The first one failed when one of our star players was stripped of the ball on the 2 yard line, the ball actually fumbled into the end zone and Orem recovered. It was so sad. That poor player, despite an awesome game I'm sure he cried for 2 hours after the game. He is a senior and we haven't beat Orem since he was a freshman so this game meant the world to him.
The second opportunity came on a pass down the side line and their player dove for it and actually caught it on the bounce (according to the coaches and many eye witnesses) and debatably in or out of bounds and it was ruled an interception. Heart breaker # 2! Text-guy was sad all evening. We all were! It's so hard to go right down to the line like that and have hope and then lose.
Anyway, we're on our way to East HS in SLC to play them in the first round of the playoffs. Their record is only one win better than ours and so we're hoping to win and progress through the playoffs. Our guys have sure come a long way this year. It's been a lot of fun and I hope it doesn't end today!
It's been another busy week. I took off part of Wednesday and went to Layton to meet my mom and my BFF Sis to do some shopping. We remodeled mom's bathroom earlier this year and now we're on to mom and dad's bedroom. It should be a lot easier than the bathroom because the biggest project in the bedroom is pulling up the carpet and finishing the hardwood floor underneath-cake compared to ripping out tile, putting up bead board wainscoting, painting, tiling the floor, a new tub skirting and of course-accessorizing! Anyway, we shopped for new linens and mom was in a shopping mood and I think we actually may have found 'the one' despite how elusive it can be sometimes. We had lunch at TGI Fridays and got mom a new cell phone. It was a good day.
Last Sunday I had to speak in church! It went okay I suppose but a little intimidating because the other speaker was a missionary leaving for his mission so the entire stake presidency was there! At least the stake president is a huge Billy Joel fan like myself and also a really cool guy. Just glad it's over!
Gotta jet-game time is approaching! A little Billy to finish on....'everything revolves on what you do, you are in your prime, you've come of age. You can always have your way some how, cause everybody loves you now.' that's for Text Guy hope it's true today!
