The ramblings of a wife and mom of two...and oh yes, a Billy Joel fan!

Friday at last!

I've been off a day all week this week so after having all day yesterday feel like Friday-today has been extra long! Long enough that I finally decided to write something here!

Tonight Bri and I are taking Sally and a friend to the pool/waterpark. I haven't donned a swimsuit since I've lost 72 lbs in the past 15 months but with almost 40 lbs to go I still don't think I'm ready. I'm sure my old suits would be way too big and the thought of shopping for a new one doesn't sound too entertaining-well, maybe if I needed a good laugh! Maybe I'll go get one but get a tank top and shorts to go over it to wear a while longer. I do like to swim and my legs definately need some sun! I'm sure Textguy will be too involved with friends to join his family at the pool. I guess parents aren't too cool to hang with when you're 16. Oh well, I know he still loves his mommy, even if he doesn't want to hang out with me.

It should be an interesting weekend. We want to make a trip to Morgan to see my family but we put Bri's mom on hospice last week and she has been going down hill ever since. Except today-she was speaking clearly and about 90% coherently when we visited her today. She looked better too. It's hard to watch day by day. As much better as she was today, she may be that much worse tomorrow. Yesterday she would hardly rouse to talk and then it was just an incoherent mumble. Here kidneys are functioning at only 20% so the end is near but how close we don't know. It will be good to have a long weekend to concentrate on family and remembering friends and family who have gone on.

Reading Twinkie's blog has inspired me so I think I'll write a little more often and who knows... I might even tell some family and friends that I have a blog! We'll see! I think a fun tradition might be to always finish with a line from my fav Billy Joel... so for today: "I don't know why I go to extemes..."
